Tihar, also called as Diwali or Deepawali, ranks second only to Dashain in Nepal. It usually takes place in Nepali Kartik month (Octorber to November in Solar Calendar) and continues for five days. During this festival, people will honour crows, dogs, cows as well as Laxmi, the goddess of wealth and luck. As numerous candles and festive lanterns will be lit up for the Goddess of Laxmi, Tihar is also well-known as the festival of lights.

Kag tihar -:
                 It is the first day of tihar. In this day I gave some food to crow and worshipped crow. Crow is also known as messenger of death. My mother cook delicious food for family members during this day.

Kukur tihar -:
Image result for picture of kukur tihar                   It is second day of tihar. During this we worshipped dog. I gave some food to dog and we did pooja of dog.On Kukur Tihar, Nepalese policemen will present beautiful garlands to the patrol dogs and paint their foreheads in red cinnabar to thank for their contributions in social security.

Laxmi puja -:
                   On this day I woke up early in morning and I went temple with my mother. This day in morning I worshipped cow. After that we cleaned all our home. At evening we did laxmi pooja. Laxmi is also regarded as goddess of wealth. Our home was decorated beautifully by flowers, candles and lights. Many people came to play deusi and bhailo this day. In return, we give them money, fruit and sweets.

Maha puja -:
Image result for picture of maha puja                     This day is regarded as the new year of Newari people.At evening we performed Mha Puja to worship ourselves.Mha Puja is also regarded as "worship of self".

Bhai tika -:
                  It is the last day of tihar. On this day I went to visit my brother's home. All the family were gather together there. I received seven colours tika from my brother and I also put him tika. I gave him some present and in return he gave me a beautiful dress and some sweets. This celebration has enhanced the close relationship between brothers and sisters.

 Meanwhile, I clicked some photographs with brother. It was very good time with brother and family members and I enjoyed a lot.
